Showroom B2B: Making Clothing Business a Breeze

CIO Vendor By 2025 - 26, the Indian textile and apparel market is expected to reach $250 billion. The retail sector in India has undergone a lot of changes and has grown significantly during the past few years. Indian retailers are now adopting technologies more swiftly, adding to this sector's growth. Much of the B2B market in India remains unorganized, meaning that merchants today need to travel to other cities to stock up on their inventory. But these merchants do not have much leverage to negotiate, so they struggle to find the best value for money and access to a wider selection of catalogue. Showroom B2B is an end-to-end supply chain platform in the Fashion & Apparel category that combines the best of digital and physical markets to offer a unique proposition to manufacturers and retailers.

An end-to-end supply chain platform in the Fashion & Apparel category, Showroom B2B has raised $1.35M in the seed round. The firm claims to blend the best aspects of the physical and digital marketplaces. "Where clothing retailers struggle with a constrained selection of goods, inadequate avail ability, opaque pricing, phony product quality, and the high cost of operating capital, our solutions come into play. Showroom B2B's thousands of products encompass important apparel fashion categories like men's, women's, and kid's wear”, says Abhishek Dua, Founder, Showroom B2B.

Retailers can experience the 'touch & feel' of apparel at their 'Experience Stores', which physically replicates its e-commerce app. Showroom B2B’s mission is to simplify running a clothing business in any market. By bringing together Tier-2+ clothing stores and small to mid-scale apparel manufacturers on its marketplace, Showroom B2B is creating the largest 'Phygital' platform for India's highly unorganized and fragmented fashion industry. The company also offers solutions for distribution, credit, logistics, and marketing. Abhishek and Shubham, the Founders of Showroom B2B, both have a surfeit of business experience in the B2B sector. People with relevant expertise working for companies like Amazon, Meesho, Big Basket, Store King, and many more make up the second line of management.

Showroom B2B, launched in August 2021 in a small, remote place in UP, has since expanded to more than 11 cities in UP. They have delivered 3,50,000+ items while collaborating with 5000+ garment retailers and more than 500 active manufacturers. Being an end-to end supply chain management firm, Showroom B2B believes in assisting manufacturers and retailers in every transaction. Everything from placing orders to handling logistics, collecting payments, and giving customers a line of credit is handled by the firm. "To help these retailers inspect product quality even before placing an order, we have established 'Experience Stores' across various tier-2 cities. Due to this, product acceptance has increased in smaller cities, where the majority of our transactions take place”, says Abhishek.

The Road Ahead

Showroom B2B has onboarded manufacturers from all the major manufacturing hubs, such as Ludhiana, Delhi, Surat, Ahmedabad, and Tirupur, among others. The firm is currently focusing on strengthening its supply chain by partnering with more clothing manufacturers and is replicating its success in new geographies by opening new 'Experience Stores'; this paves the way for future growth. "We will be expanding the selection of products and categories we offer, expand our financing capabilities for small businesses and extend our supply chain network", says Abhishek.
